Get to know me

Since my early years, I have always wanted to be an explorer, to see and learn and do new things and to travel new places to those ends. One thing I have always loved to explore was technology, especially how to use it to help me accomplish things faster and better than I could otherwise.

It was lucky my family moved around a lot growing up for my father's job so I was fortunate to see many places in person and meet many new faces. The exploration never stopped, exploring the world of technology and the nascent world of cyberspace in my teens and studying for a semester in Italy in college, which I used as a jumping off point around Europe.

My technical exploration has never stopped, always reading and exploring new technologies as they became available. My current interests are focused on machine learning, especially prompt engineering to take advantage of the quantum leaps in productivity it affords as well as blockchain technology for a more trustworthy and secure world.

My mission

Is to help bring about the fantastical sci-fi worlds that I read about as a kid, such as in Asimov's Foundation series or what I saw on the Jestsons. A world where technology can be used to advance our capabilities freeing us from the drudgery of monotonous work and instead focus on the insights that data and new perspectives can provide as only humans can.

This transformation will not be easy and will take place everywhere over time but also all at once. I plan to bring my deep experience and perspective to bear to help shepherd this transformation wherever I go both professionally and personally.

My vision

We are on the cusp of an incredible world forming if we can properly harness the technology we have created. I plan to work tirelessly to ensure the creation of that world for my children. Where technology is used ubiquitously to serve humanity and uplift the human condition and increase knowledge and freedom while avoiding dystopias such as seen 1984, Brave New World and the Panopticon.

This transformative work will have to be done everwhere and most of it can be done from anywhere. I want to help you and your organization be a part of that bright future.

My thoughts

Our strength lies in the best of our human nature and our weakness in the worst of it. Technology is, perhaps for the first time ever, on the cusp of integrating aspects of us into itself with or without our guidance. The definition and nature of Information Technology management is going to change radically in the coming years and we must guide and manage that transition in a proactively positive way.
